Acer X Twig
10 puppies free whelped October
18, 1999
4 females, 6 males
into homes by early January
Currently the entire litter
is in "puppy training" and some of them will be following hand signals for
"stand" and "down" by the end of the week. All pups know
"mine" and "get-it". They are a very intelligent and eager to
please bunch of pups. Additionally, exposure to birds has continued, with flying, flapping
pigeons and last week to a Canada Goose. All are eager for bird contact and mouth
feathers readily. Exposure to light shot is continuing as well, with a cap gun/.22
starter pistol during mealtimes. They are taken for walks and through cover, over
hill and dale, and all are happy to explore.

The Boys |
 |
 |
Brillo
Brillo is a confident yet easy going little
pup. He scored well on the temperament tests, following well, retrieving, and
responding to the various test aspects with mainly 2's and 3's. Additionally, he is very
birdy and willingly tackles cover.
|
 |
 |
Taboo
Taboo is also very confident and outgoing. He
does get a bit overly excited about things like food and playing, and chasing feet.
He scored in the high 3's and a couple of twos. He is very even minded and trains
very well. Will probably be quite demanding on his new home for attention. He has
good conformation, and a shorter, bristley coat.
|
 |

|
Rigby
Rigby is a very intent young pup, and he must have
extra muscles attaching his tail, because it wags the fastest of all the pups. He is
a deep bodied puppy, broad across the shoulders and rear. He tested with 3's and a
two for dominance restraint, and he was also very forgiving, cuddling up to the tester and
licking her face after he was let up.
|
 |

|
Bond
(James Bond) This boy is another shorter coated pup.
He is very forward and inquisitive, especially determined around birds.
During the temperament test, he scored 3's and two's and a 1. This is
another pup who did not like the dominance restraint yet was an extremely forgiving puppy.
He earned his name with his incredible escape tactics and his ability to spot an
open door, or an unattended garbage can. This is a very busy pup, and a quick
learner.

 |
 |
Winston
Winston is very inquisitive and eager to explore, but
is not as demanding of attention as his littermates. He does like to play and go for
walks. He likes birds and can be seen in the largest photo with the goose wing.
His temperament test indicated a more independant nature but he was accepting of
all the aspects of the test.

 |

|
Orion
Orion is the smallest pup in the litter, and is a
pretty interesting little fellow. He is a pup that decided not to test on the day of
the temperament test, instead he spent his time exploring the room (much to our tester's
dismay) and thoroughly sniffed every corner. Around the house, he is a bright
puppy, and trains well, but is not the kind of pup who is upset when he is left
alone.

|
Roxy
Roxy is a very sweet natured puppy. She is
gentle yet she has a high prey drive and is always ready to play.
Roxy is very
alert to what is going on and one of the first to get into trouble when the occasion
arises. She is friendly and affectionate. In the temperament she scored mainly
3's with a 1 for prey drive... and a retrieve..... so she should be a good,
cooperative and easily trained hunteress.
|
 |

|
Charisma
Charisma is also very gentle, and very easily
trained. She is a cuddler and does her very best to please. She has a high
prey drive, and enjoys playing fetch. In her temperament test, she scored mainly 3's
with a 4 in elevation dominance (struggled, settled, licked) when she was suspended above
the floor. She has a mild nature, and will be a nice dog to train, not a real
hard minded pup.
|
 |

|
Grout
This little pup is a very bonded individual.
She trains easily, and is very excited about life. She is finer boned than the other
pups in the litter, and is the smallest of the females. She has a nice natural
retrieve and has a nose fit for sniffing out countertop smells. She has a shorter
coat. Her temperament test was mainly 3's... with a 1 in prey drive.
|
 |

|
Winter
This is the most dominant of the females, she is a
bright and very busy pup. Winter has a bold attitude, while being l easy to train
and attentive to those around her. She has a shorter coat, and good structure.
Temperament tests scores were mainly 3's with a 1 in prey drive.
