About The Dam:
Beast is a nicely built, agile, intelligent Griffonne, she has a medium harsh coat with good undercoat and total cover under her belly. She is a very vibrant, enthusiastic bitch who tackles all tasks with a determination and joy. Right from the start, Beast has demonstrated excellent natural traits and we hope that these are passed on. She is very affectionate and sweet natured.

This is Beast's second litter.

About The Sire:
Acer was bred by Erick Van Der Schouw, Kennel V.'T Holtlaad, Holland. Acer is a Griffon of more square structure, excellent coat and is an athlete. He has an excellent nose, and is also a cooperative and willing Griffon. Acer has a bigger running style and "horse-power". He is a young dog, will be four years old this coming April so is just coming into his own in the field. Acer has shown many traits that we appreciate and we believe he will have a positive influence on our bloodlines.

Acer has produced seven litters. All matches have been outcrosses (unrelated bitches) The first was our foundation bitch, CH Checkered Meg, the second litter was with Ch Prancing Acrobat, Third was with Feu Follet Edge of Eden, fourth was with Griffonpoint Gunners Luck CGC, Fifth litter was with Griffonpoint Imagine FD.

This should be a good litter, it is a very open breeding, tied into the St. Landry back further... but not through the same dogs. Acer has produced well with Beast's maternal and paternal side, but with Beast's dam there were some coat problems.

This will be interesting, as these two Griffons are of very similar body types, both are athletic and not real heavy dogs. We may get some poor coats but hopefully all three will have good coats, physically what I am hoping for is pups with good, sound body type, with good coats, and with good substance.

In character, Beast is very enthusiastic and eager to play. She is very affectionate in the house, not as reliable as she should be, she still thinks she can play with the cushions on the sofa. As for training, Acer had a better attention span than Beast at this age, so hopefully the pups will mature mentally a bit earlier.

They are also similar in hunting style with Beast being the stronger of the two in water. Hopefully all pups will love water and have great noses!

In any case, these pups should have the solid hunting traits that we have seen passed down through the Feu Follet liine, and Duckpond line, and through Acer.
